Until a couple of years ago, I had never had an American-style Thanksgiving. Of course, our family always got together for the holiday, but we’ve always had cultural food. So until recently, I didn’t know what turkey tasted like, nor did I know what stuffing, mashed potatoes, or pie tasted like. Now it’s become our tradition to do an American-style Thanksgiving with all the traditional dishes, and occasionally we might throw in a cultural dish here and there.
Every year we buy a standard size turkey, and every year we don’t know what to do with it. Even with 5 adults, we could never finish the whole turkey. Funny thing is, even after downgrading to this little guy this year, we still couldn’t finish it!
As we’ve just started the American-style Thanksgiving, I ate my first pie only a year or two ago, and it’s always been pumpkin pie. I was hesitant to try an apple pie, considering pies and apples aren’t exactly my favorite foods, so how would combining them be any better? But I was pleasantly surprised. Still not my favorite food, but not as bad as I thought it would be.
Yes, that’s not a turkey. We didn’t have a large enough turkey mold, but we did have a miniature turkey mold…
And of course we had some wine to top it all off =)

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
