Whilst this isn’t a petite-specific problem, an area in which I’ve struggled with sizing time and time again is in the bra department. Most bra brands start at band size 32, so finding a brand that offers not only a smaller band size, but also accompanied by a large cup size, was a challenge. Over the years, I’ve gathered a handful of resources for small band, big cup bras, and I thought I’d share a summary for those struggling with the same dilemma.
Bare Necessities
Sizes start at 28C.
Bare Necessities is a US-based company, offering a wide range of sizes including the elusive 28 band size. Compared to some of the other brands I’ve listed below, Bare Necessities has a limited to moderate selection of bras in the small band, big cup category. Shipping to the US is $5, or free for orders over $70. Returns are done using a pre-paid label, and a fee of $6.95 is deducted from your credit.
Bravissimo
Sizes start at 28E.
Bravissimo is a British-based brand, specifically dedicated to large cup bra sizes. They offer the largest selection of bras, compared to the other sites listed. Standard shipping costs $5, and returns from the US are free. One thing to note: orders are not trackable. You will receive an email alerting you that your order has shipped, but there will not be a tracking number for the order. As a first time purchaser, this was a little nerve wracking, but my order did end up arriving in a timely manner. I returned one of the two bras I purchased, and didn’t have any issues with their returns process.
Fig Leaves
Sizes start at 28C.
Fig Leaves is a UK-based brand that offers small band sizes in addition to common band sizes. While they have the second largest selection, the variety of bra styles isn’t as large as Bravissimo. Standard shipping to the US is $8.95, or free on orders over $250. As I haven’t purchased from Fig Leaves for quite some time, I’m not positive how their returns work, although their site does state that delivery charges are not refunded.
Nordstrom
Sizes start at 28A.
As much as I love Nordstrom for small size shoes, it’s not the strongest resource for small band, large cup bras. Sizes start at 28A, but are limited to bralettes, adhesives cups, backless bras, and tank tops. Bras with padding, underwire, etc. appear to start at 28D. One pro is that Nordstrom offers free shipping and returns within the US.
