Every once in a while, I try to remind myself to wear the loved, but for some reason lesser used, items in my closet. Today I wanted to share some casual weekend outfit inspiration, featuring a pair of petite-friendly ankle boots from ALDO. I’ve had these boots for years, and love them too much to part with them. However, more often than not, I find myself reaching for my knee high boots instead.
Although these boots are years old, I thought it might be helpful to mention ALDO as a petite-friendly option. For reference, I am a small size 4 in women’s shoes. Although ALDO only offers down to size 5, sometimes there are workarounds. These booties ran a full size small, so I was able to fit a size 5. In addition to these boots, I have two others in size 5 that fit fine with the help of full-length inserts. See my review of one of them here.
I’ve been trying to purge my closet of anything I don’t love or things I’m not excited to wear. Along those lines, I’m trying to shed light on loved, but lesser worn, items in my closet.
Ankle boots can be tricky on petites because they tend to cut off the leg line. For that reason, I tend to reach for knee-high boots more often than ankle boots. Eventually, I found that wearing them with thick knit socks like this helps smooth the transition between my skinny ankles to the large opening of the ankle boots.
So for the rest of this casual outfit, I wore a lacy cream colored sweater, which tied in nicely with the beige and brown color of the socks and ankle boots. For accessories, I wore the snitch necklace I bought from our recent trip to Universal Studios, FL.
Hopefully the more I re-shop my closet, the less I shop!
