Monochrome for Fall: All Black Outfit

Monochrome outfits are so chic. How has it taken me this long to try it?

I was looking for a fresh, new way to style the pieces in my closet. I’m lucky to have gotten to a place where I love most of the pieces in my closet, but wearing the same outfit combinations over and over can still get stale. So I decided to try a styling idea I’ve seen all over Pinterest – monochrome outfits.

For this outfit, I pulled pieces from my work wardrobe and pieces from my casual wardrobe and combined them together. The jeans are from my casual wardrobe, but the waffle knit and loafers are usually part of my work wardrobe. Perhaps that’s why I never thought to pair them together.

Together, there are a few reasons why these pieces make for an off-duty – but still chic – outfit. Firstly: the turtleneck. Your neck and collarbone are sexy! Even when covered up by a turtleneck! Secondly: the ankle jeans. Think Audrey Hepburn. Thirdly: the pointy toe shoes. Pointy toe shoes elongate your legs, and look more chic and sophisticated compared to their round, almond, and square toe counterparts.

I love how this outfit turned out, and I’m dying to try more monochrome outfits in other colors. I’ve seen some brands selling two-piece monochrome sets, and they look so chic. I’ve already pinned some to my wishlist!

. . . .

Thanks for reading!

    1. Thank you so much! There’s nothing wrong with wearing oversized pieces! I love the oversized look, but it’s harder for me to style, so I usually stick to more fitted pieces. So glad to hear you’ve enjoyed seeing the outfits on the blog, and really appreciate you stopping by!
