I have to have a black version of every shoe I own. Black goes with everything, and after one too many times standing in front of my closet wishing I had a pair of black sneakers to go with my outfit, I went on the hunt for the perfect pair. After many months of scouring online shops, I spotted a new addition at Nordstrom, and it was love at first sight. So today, I want to share with you the saga and my review of the Zella Running Sneakers.

The Saga

I placed a total of four orders for these sneakers, and my sister had placed one order as a Christmas present for me. Each time, the order was cancelled within 24 hours. Then recently, I saw they were on sale and thought one more try couldn’t hurt. Apparently fifth time’s the charm, because not only did I finally receive my order, but I managed to buy them for $30 off the original price! Patience grasshopper…

Size & Fit

It was surprisingly hard to find a simple, chic pair of black sneakers from a reputable brand in a women’s size 4. And with sneakers, where quality and comfort are especially important, I hesitated to try the kids’ department (where I fit size 2). I ended up purchasing these in my regular size 4, and they fit like a dream. The upper is stretchy, so I can wear thin liner socks or thick regular socks for added comfort.

I’ve never seen sneakers by Zella, but I do own a pair of leggings by Zella, and so does my sister who swears by them. Combined with Nordstrom’s free shipping and returns, I felt pretty comfortable trying out these sneakers. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint! They’re lightweight, the insole is cushy and soft, and the stretchy upper makes them easy to pull on and off. They fit like a dream and feel like a dream!
