Autumn Outfit: Pairing Brown and Gray

This is one of my favorite cardigans for fall. The rust color is beautiful and so autumnal, it really gets me in the fall spirit when I bring it out every year. I normally pair this cardigan with a ditsy floral print top I have in my closet, but I always struggle to find the right shoes for this outfit. I took to Pinterest for some inspiration on other ways to wear this cardigan, and decided to try something I’ve never tried before: pairing brown and gray together in an outfit.

When I put outfits together, some color combinations come naturally, like it’s a given. Brown and gray was not one of them. I’ve had both this cardigan and this gray t-shirt in my closet for years, and never thought to wear them together. The best part was, now that there was gray in the outfit, it was easy to pick the shoes to go with it.

I bought these ankle boots from Clarks aaaages ago. I really like them, but I don’t have many outfits to wear them with. The boots have a mix of olive green and gray in them, which tied in perfectly with the gray shirt in the outfit.

This was the outfit I wore last Sunday while we were running errands. The day before, on Saturday, my husband surprised me with a trip to a big shopping outlet that I don’t get to go to often. He HATES shopping, so this was a pleasant surprise.

While we were out, we had a lunch date at UNO. I went with a lobster roll with a side of french fries, and a mango lemonade. Husband got the Rattlesnake pasta.

After 4 hours, he was pretty pooped and we decided to call it a day, but I had the loveliest time.
