a week in my life | food truck, farm shop, groceries and work

After a string of travel posts, it’s good to be back with a plain old “week in my life” blog post. There’s something laid back and enjoyable in writing about the mundane, the every day. So let’s go back to last Saturday.

On the weekends, my husband and I like to treat ourselves to lunch out on one of the days. Last Saturday, we decided to try a food truck that we’ve driven by several times before. I had spicy chicken tacos, he had a smorgasbord of a burrito, and we had churros to share. I don’t know what it is abut churros, but I get so excited when I see them on a menu – they’re always SO good!

Even though it’s mid-October, the weather was beautiful. It was warm enough that I was able to wear just a thin bodycon dress, which I wore with a pair of spotted slip-on shoes and a black crossbody bag. I brought a black faux leather jacket with me just in case, but it was so nice out that I left it in the car.

After lunch, we went to the pharmacy for our annual flu shot. I left with a sore arm and some fall nail polish, just for kicks.

On Sunday, we went grocery shopping, then stopped by a farm shop on our way home to buy some pumpkins. The grocery store had pumpkins too, but we wanted to support the local farm. Side note – has anyone watched the show “Clarkson’s Farm” on Amazon Prime? I was surprised at how captivated I became by this show, which follows The Grand Tour’s Jeremy Clarkson as he navigates the ups and downs of running a farm.

After a lovely weekend, the next five days were spent sitting at a desk, working 9-5. Every month so far this year has had either a holiday or vacation time I’ve requested. This month has had neither – we didn’t have Columbus Day off and we don’t have any vacation time planned until next month. My brain is a little tired and I’m very much looking forward to the next holiday to recharge.

I hope you enjoyed this “week in my life” blog post. I’m hoping to squeeze out a couple more of these before our next vacation, and then there may be a couple vacation/travel posts.
