Replenishing the Makeup Supplies: Cucumbers, Rockets, and Varnish

Time to replenish some makeup supplies!  I recently polished off my Simple facial cleansing wipes and my Maybelline Falsies mascara, so I decided to replenish both, but with something a little different.  I wanted to try the Say Yes to Cucumbers cleansing wipes and the Maybelline The Rocket mascara, just to mix it up a little.

Makeup Haul

Say Yes to Cucumbers: I had high hopes for this product.  This line of products is lumped into the natural products category, along with brands like Simple and Burt’s Bees.  I have several Simple products that all work well, and Ingrid Nilsen on YouTube raved about the Say Yes to Cucumbers wipes, so I thought I’d give them a try.  HUGE MISTAKE!  It stung my face and made my skin turn red as if it were burning!  I should mention that I DO NOT have sensitive skin, which is why it struck me as extra odd that I reacted to this product, not to mention to a product that is supposed to be natural and hypoallergenic.  More recently, I bought the Say Yes to Grapefruit face scrub to replenish my almost gone Simple face scrub, but my experience with the wipes was enough to make me return both that and the scrub without even trying the latter.  So not taking the chance!

Maybelline The Rocket Waterproof Mascara

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara: I’m really liking this product so far.  It’s not clumpy, it does the job, and it holds a curl.  If you have problems with mascaras flattening out the curl of your eyelashes, definitely try a waterproof version.  I got the waterproof version of this mascara, and it doesn’t flatten the curl of my lashes at all.  I love the electric blue of the tube too =)

Wet N' Wild Purple Nail Polish

While I was at CVS, I was also trying to hunt down a comparable nail polish to the one that Essie Button had been styling in her YouTube videos.  I scored this one from Wet N’ Wild for 75 cents! It’s even more of a score because the first time I used it, I fell in love with it.  It’s a perfect, opaque, medium shade of purple.  I like that it’s not pastel, which would only be spring/summer appropriate, nor jewel-toned, which would only be fall/winter appropriate.  It’s right in the middle, making it appropriate year-round.  The cost per wear would be 0!  Less than 0!  It would be in the negative!

    1. I’m glad to hear it’s working for you. I wish it worked for me to. The cucumber smell was amazing!
