Iiiiiii may have done some damage at Tarte. But look at these stunningly, beautifully designed lipsticks! How could I resist?
These are the Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipsticks. From left to right, I got the shades Foxy (magenta), Fierce (orange-toned red), and Bold (coral). Normally, I don’t buy multiples of a single product. However, these were on sale from $26 to $16. $16 is still quite pricey for a tube of lipstick (comparable to a MAC lipstick), but A) the packaging was too cute to pass on, B) they got rave reviews from so many people, and C) they’re being discontinued =(
I had plenty of reasons to splurge on the Glamazon lipsticks. I had no reason to splurge on the butter lipstick other than to get free shipping…
This is the Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in the shade Watermelon. It’s exactly what you would expect the color to be – a watermelon shade of pink.
I love the creamy consistency of all the lipsticks. They glide on easily and they keep your lips decently moisturized. My only beef with these is that the color definitely transfers, which means they are not ideal for kissing boyfriends, husbands, parents, kids, or little grannies. It also means that when you eat, this lovely thing will happen where the lipstick in the center of your lips fades, while the outer rim doesn’t, leaving you looking like you outlined your lips with bright liner and forgot to fill them in. However, filling in your lips with lip liner and then applying the Tarte lipstick on top helps the awkward fading issue. Nothing will solve the transferring issue though…except maybe one thing…which I will save for a different post, so stay tuned! =D
