Yesterday was the first time I had a taco in a long time – as in, since elementary school when tacos were stale and served to innocent unknowing children on little Styrofoam trays. A group of friends and I were at a friend’s apartment last night for a little Friday night get-together. While most of the girls sat in the living room lip-synching and dancing to Beyonce‘s “Independent Woman” and “Bills, Bills, Bills,” the guys were in the kitchen cooking up a storm – yay for role reversal! (Actually, not really. Guys lip-synching and dancing to Independent Woman??)
After 30-45 minutes or so, we had a table laid out with soft tacos, a pan of spicy meat, a pan of non-spicy meat, lettuce, salsa, cream cheese, grated cheese, and Tostitos tortilla chips. We ate and sang along (badly) to theme songs from Walt Disney cartoons from eons ago, reminiscing about our childhood and balking at the idea that some of us hadn’t seen certain cartoons as kids. It was an afternoon of good friends, good food, and good laughs.
Apart from that, my week has been pretty uninteresting, so I don’t have much to blog about. Just wanted to let my readers know I’m still alive and kicking.
wow that evening sounds ace 🙂 favourite old disney theme tune??
hope this week is more eventful for you
Wow, there’s so many to choose from I wouldn’t know where to begin. Some of the ones I like are “You’ll Be in My Heart,” “Kiss the Girl,” “A Whole New World,” “Colors of the Wind,” and…probably everything from Mulan. I actually never saw Tarzan, Aladdin, or The Little Mermaid, but I still like the theme songs. There’s probably so many more that I like that I just can’t think of. Thanks for stopping by!
