On Saturday night, I came home after a day of work and an evening of running errands to find a little package sitting on my front porch. I’m always delighted to receive mail, mainly because snail mail is a dying form of communication. Everything is electronic these days, which is great in terms of time efficiency, but there’s something nice about receiving tangible mail hand-delivered to your home.
After dropping off the groceries, I grabbed the kitchen scissors to open the plastic wrapping on my package and found it to be a welcome package from my workplace. How cute!
They had filled the box with a handful of items – chapstick, hand-sanitizing spray, white facial tissues, make-up remover cleansing towelettes, and dental flossers.
Why such a random assortment of products, you ask? Because while I do not work in retail, there is a retail store associated with my workplace, so I suppose they thought it would be fitting to equip me with products from the retail portion of my workplace.
On the inside lid, I found a card that read:
I always think little gestures mean so much more than grand gestures, and I thought it was very nice of them to send their new employees welcome packages. It really did make me feel like a part of the team, even though I know they probably send the same package to all employees, except maybe minus the make-up remover for male employees..
