Smudgy Dots: Pull & Bear Long Wrap Culotte Review

I recently discovered the brand Pull & Bear, and spent several weeks perusing their site, reading limited reviews online about sizing, and debating whether or not I wanted to try them out. I came across this rust brown, dotted jumpsuit, and was smitten enough to make my first purchase.

Your eyes are not deceiving you. When the jumpsuit arrived, I could barely contain my excitement. I ripped open the package and immediately tried it on, only to realize that something was…off. Walking to my full-length mirror in the hallway, I felt like the hems were hitting my ankles at a different point on my left leg vs. my right leg. Looking in the mirror, and especially looking at this picture, I realized with dismay that the lengths of the two pant legs were completely different lengths!

How does this even happen??

However, aside from the unfortunate mismatched hems, oh my do I love this jumpsuit. I love the earthy rust brown color, and the imperfect, smudgy dot print.

In terms of fit, I was quite surprised by how well this jumpsuit fit. For reference, I’m 4’11”, and I usually wear XS/XXS, 00, or 23″-24″ waist, depending on the item and brand. I ordered this jumpsuit in XS. The waistband is elasticated, and fit my waist comfortably – not too tight, not too loose. The whole jumpsuit overall fits just right. I didn’t feel like there was extra room in the chest, arms, butt, or legs.

That being said, at the time of writing this post, I’ve already dropped off my jumpsuit with my tailor to have a couple things done. The first alteration is to have the pant legs shortened. On the model on the Pull & Bear website, the jumpsuit hits at her mid-calf, and I felt that this length would be more flattering on myself as well.

In addition to hemming the pant legs to a mid-calf length as shown above, I’ve asked my tailor to add a snap button to the chest area. The chest area consists of two overlapping pieces of fabric with no closure, and that are not sewn together. This is fine when I’m standing still, but with movement, the two sides shift and my bra peeks out the top. Not a big deal, and nothing a simple snap closure can’t fix.
