Express Petite Work Clothes Review

I’m not a frequent shopper at Express, but their petite sizing is always tempting to me. While some brands offer small petite sizes that are still cut generously, Express sometimes carries small petite sizes that are actually small. Today I wanted to share a review of a couple pieces of Express petite work clothes I purchased recently.

Express Tie Waist Sheath Dress

The first piece I purchased was the Puff Sleeve Tie Waist Sheath Dress in size XXS petite. At 4’11”, it was the perfect knee-length dress on me. The back of the dress has a V-shape neckline, just like the front, and a zipper down the back. Once the zipper is done up, the bust and waist fit just right for my 28E bust and 24″ waist. Although the waist runs large for my 28″ hips, it looks like a bubble skirt, which I don’t mind.

Express High-Waist Fold-Over Skirt

The other piece I purchased was the High Waisted Fold-Over Waistband Pencil Skirt in size XXS petite. The skirt was an inch or two shorter than I’d like, and a bit more tapered than I’d like for work. On the other hand, the hips were large for me. I have small hips, so if you have average to curvier hips, this might fit better. Although I didn’t mind the fold-over design, it doesn’t look as smooth because the top bit sticks out, which you can see in the first picture.

Still Available if You’re Interested!

Funny thing is I only purchased the dress for free shipping, but the dress is the piece I’m keeping! If you’re interested in either of these pieces, they are still listed on Express’ website.

Unfortunately, the dress is currently unavailable in most petite sizes, but Express seems to restock their inventory frequently, so I anticipate more sizes to become available soon. The dress is available in several sizes in regular fit. Seeing as petite fit my 4’11” height, if you’re taller, regular may fit fine too. The dress comes in black, navy blue, and a pretty rose that would look lovely for spring.

The skirt is currently available in petite sizing, and it’s on sale for 40% off! If you’re taller than me and prefer extra length, I would suggest considering the regular length. For small-hipped ladies, the skirt might run large in the hips. However, if you have average or curvy hips, the hips should fit fine.

I hope you found this review of some Express petite work clothes helpful!
