Happy first weekend of spring everyone! This past Monday was the start of Daylight Savings time. The weather is slowly getting warmer, and the days are brighter for longer, and I am loving every minute of it! We popped out to a little bookstore café yesterday just to peruse and grab some coffee while we were there. I wanted to share with you what I wore for my first weekend of spring outfit – denim overalls with lemon print converse!
The start of spring is always that awkward time of year when it’s 60 degrees and 30 degrees in the same day. To scratch my itch to start dressing for spring, I wore a yellow handbag and my lemon print Converse for some pops of color. I still needed to keep warm though, so I layered a long sleeve bodysuit underneath, and brought a knit cardigan just in case.
The bookstore café we went to was called An Unlikely Story. We were planning on just grabbing some coffees and walking around, but it was about lunch time so we decided to grab a bite too. For beverages, they had coffees and teas. For food, they had soups, paninis, salads, and some sandwiches on the kids menu. I opted for an ice chai tea latte and a grilled SubButter and banana sandwich off the kids’ menu.
They of course had regular books, but they also had some whimsical books, games, and the most adorable plushies!
I was personally most excited to find a book about Backstreet Boys and a stuffed sloth.
In addition to the bookstore and café, they also have a second floor where they hold events like “author signings/readings, workshops, yoga, Open Mic nights, and trivia nights,” according to their website.
We spent a couple hours there, and had a lovely time! I hope you enjoyed seeing An Unlikely Story bookstore and cafe as much as we enjoyed being there. If you’re ever in the area, definitely pop by and support a small business. I also hope you liked my first weekend of spring outfit!
