It’s been over 2 months since my last blog post, and what an overwhelming 2 months it’s been. I’ve since started my 4th year of college, notoriously the most intense year of the 6 yearlong program. I’ve downed countless cups of coffee since, so many that I’ve lost track, and so many that it’s pushed me to finally get a move on and open a Starbucks rewards card. At the rate I’m going, I’ll be a gold member in a matter of days. My fellow coffee lovers, do you ever get the feeling you could single-handedly keep a coffee shop in business with the amount of times you frequent their establishment?
Most days, I find I’m too busy to eat a legitimate meal. I’ll literally bring 2 snack size bags of goldfish crackers to last me from when I wake up at 6 am until I come home at 7:30 at night. It’s a bad habit, and I’ve been trying to do better…sort of. I’ve progressed to either skipping breakfast BUT eating a legitimate lunch, oooor eating a substantial breakfast around mid-morning, which keeps me full through lunch time. Take for example…
Tater tots, bacon, and sausages – SO GOOD!! I’ll eat this box around mid-morning, and wash it down with a Venti Ice Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks and I’ll be stuffed until early afternoon. And I’ve found that when I eat fuller meals like this, I no longer feel the need to bring snack foods. So instead of spending money on tons of snack foods to fill my school bag with, I just put the money towards buying more substantial meals instead. And I feel better because my stomach’s not growling during class. The only drawback is that following the meal with a giant coffee is a must because I get THE WORST food coma when I eat anything bigger than a snack like the goldfish crackers, it’s awful. Hence the Starbucks rewards card.
