Weekend Errands: Polka Dots and a Dash of Yellow

As much as I love wearing sleek pencil skirts, blouses, and ballet flats to work in the summer, as a human, sometimes I have those mornings when I just don’t want to get out of bed, let alone get out of bed early enough to put on a pretty outfit.  Fast forward 30 minutes from the time I get out of bed and I’m rushing out the door in a monochromatic cotton top, plain black pants, and um…Danskos.  I know, I know!  Fashion bloggers everywhere are up in arms at the thought of chunky clunky Danskos!

Anyhow, after a long day at work this past Saturday, I had to go home and run some errands (e.g. grocery shopping).  The lazy in me was soooo unbelievably tempted to go straight to the market in my boring work clothes.  Ugghh must. resist. temptation. to be lazy!  So I changed into this little ensemble:

Dress: H&M, size 2 Purse: Marshalls Sunglasses: Charming Charlie Nail Polish: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Babe Blue, #240
Dress: H&M, size 2
Purse: Marshalls
Sunglasses: Charming Charlie Annibelle Cateye Shades
Nail Polish: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Babe Blue, #240

And although my feet were sore from standing/running around all day, I changed into something a little cuter and less bulky:

Sandals: Payless, kids size 2
Sandals: Payless, kids size 2

Since I was going to be in a supermarket, I brought a denim jacket with me in case it got cold from all the refrigerators there, but I didn’t end up needing it.

I was pretty reluctant to go through the hassle of changing outfits, but I must say I felt a lot more put together in the second outfit, so it’s all good.
