In my last post, in which I reviewed a handful of Tarte lipsticks, I mentioned that one drawback of those albeit beautifully packaged lipsticks is that they transfer like nobody’s business. Today, I’m reviewing a product that does the exact opposite.
These things don’t budge!
Theses are the Revlon Colorburst Balm Stains. From top to bottom, I have the shades Sweetheart, Rendezvous, and Romantic. I also have the shade Honey, which I couldn’t include in the picture because I lent it to my sister.
Being a balm stain, these aren’t as moisturizing as something like a lip butter, for example, but they aren’t drying either. But my absolute favorite characteristic of these is in their name: the fact that they stain your lips. This means that even after the moisturizing effect has worn off, the color is still locked onto your lips.. At this point, you can just reapply a lip balm throughout the day to moisturize your lips. No need to reapply the balm stain!
In my last post, I mentioned that the Tarte lipsticks transfer everywhere, making them not ideal “for kissing boyfriends, husbands, parents, and little grannies.” With these balm stains, after the product has dried out and all that’s left is the stain, they won’t transfer at all. So eat, drink, and kiss away, and you won’t need to double check yourself in a mirror.
Last but not least, let’s talk about the shades. Honey, which isn’t pictured here, is a muted, mauve shade that acts as a perfect MLBB. Romantic is your classic red. It’s a sheer red, so if you’re looking for a bold red lip, look elsewhere. Rendezvous…oh my. This is a straight up orange shade that’s such a nice alternative to the bold red lip for the warmer months. Then there’s Sweetheart. Sweetheart is a bright fuchsia shade that, to be honest, I was weary of buying because I wasn’t sure I could pull it off. But the number of compliments I’ve received when I wear that lipstick and the number of times I’ve reached for it when I do my makeup is a testament to what a pretty summer color it is.
I think that’s pretty much all I’ve got to say about the Revlon balm stains. Let me know if you’ve tried them and what your thoughts are!

$2.27?! That’s a steal, considering the original price is $9-$10 if I remember correctly. Thanks for checking out my post, loved your post on the smokey eye makeup!
