With temperatures still in the 100s and the sun shining bright, it’s hard to believe that we’re already nearing the last quarter of the year and that the fall/winter season is only a mere 5 weeks away. As always, with the changing of the seasons comes new launches from makeup lines. I’ve been itching to get my hands on the new Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks from their new Sheers Collection ever since I spotted them online. The moment I saw them in my CVS, I pounced!
I picked up the shade Peach Parfait. Sound familiar? Revlon incorporated 2 colors from their lip butter line into the Sheers line: Peach Parfait and Berry Smoothie. If you’ve read my previous posts, you’ll know that I was in love with the Berry Smoothie lip butter (I’ve already purchased 2 to use when fall comes!). Seeing as it’s still a little early for fall shades, I went with Peach Parfait, but you can be sure I’ll be adding Berry Smoothie to my collection in a few weeks.
Overall: The one thing that stood out to me when I first discovered the Lustrous Lipsticks was that it was UNSCENTED. I am extremely sensitive to that waxy, perfumey lipstick smell. These lipsticks are unscented, glide on easily, and are not drying on the lips. I will say, however, that they do not have the greatest staying power. I’d say after a couple hours, you’d need to reapply, so keep it close by!
Peach Parfait: This is an every day, daytime friendly shade that’s easy to wear. It’s one of those no-fuss lipsticks that you can just keep in your purse for those days when you forget to put on lipstick in the morning or you forget to put your lipstick in your purse before leaving the house because the color isn’t bold enough to clash with any outfit. As it’s a sheer lipstick, it’s also an easy, on-the-go lipstick that you can apply without a mirror, and you don’t have to worry about it getting on your teeth.
Is this a mind-blowing, you-haven’t-lived-until-you’ve-tried-this-lipstick kind of lipstick? No. But is this an easy, every day lipstick, great for busy on-the-go types, in a shade that works year round? Yes. So go get you some!
Finally found a review of this shade! How does the color compare to the lip butter? It looks a bit pinkier from the photos.
Hi Lily,
I would say the color of the lipstick and the lip butter are pretty comparable. I also found that neither the lipstick nor the lip butter had good color payoff. I think this is due to the nature of the color itself, which is a MLBB shade, so it tends to blend in with your natural lip color. In addition, the lipstick is a sheer formula, which probably also contributes to the lack of color payoff. Hope that answered your question!
Thank you for your in-depth reply! It’s really helpful.
