I don’t love watching tv shows (movies even less so), but lately I’ve been hooked on two shows: Queer Eye, and Pokemon. My husband and I recently finished Queer Eye More Than a Makeover, Queer Eye: We’re In Japan, and Pokemon Indigo League. Right now, we’re in the middle of watching Pokemon Journeys. As a 29 year old woman who was never into Pokemon as a kid, I’m surprised at how much I’ve been enjoying watching it! Today, I wanted to share with you a Pokemon-inspired outfit featuring my new Pokemon sneakers that I found on Zara!
Size & Fit
Believe it or not, I found these adorable sneakers in the boys shoes section of Zara. I have small feet, and I was browsing the kids shoes to see if there was anything I could get away with wearing there. I forgot to filter by girls shoes, and I’m glad I did, because otherwise I wouldn’t have found these. I’m a size 2 in kids shoes, but I bought these in size 2.5 so I could wear thicker socks, and they fit perfectly!
Comfort
After wearing them a couple times, I’d say the type of socks you wear matters. The first time, I wore them with shoe liners. The second time, I wore them with ankle socks. You definitely should wear socks that go up past the tongue of the shoe. Otherwise, the tongue hits where your foot bends when you walk, which I imagine can be uncomfortable over time.
If you flip through my past blog posts, you’ll see this is not my first time buying Zara kids shoes. Their shoes have little details that make them cool and different, but they’re still simple and easy to wear. I love the little Poke ball on the top, and the stitched Poke ball and Pikachu on the sides. At the same time, it’s a white sneaker for the most part, so it’s super easy to pair with different outfits. The first time, I wore them with blue jeans and a white bodysuit. The second time, I wore them with a black maxi dress and a blue denim jacket. There’s so many more options!
