ASOS Petite Clothing & Size US 4 Shoe Review

I’m super excited to be back this week, after a few weeks away from the blog. I’ve been posting regularly on my Instagram (you can find me @thefunsizefit for more daily content), but ideas for the blog are a bit more elaborate and harder to come by. It’s been A WHILE since I’ve done a mini haul, and I recently picked up a few pieces from ASOS, so I thought it would be fun to do an ASOS petite clothing and size US 4 shoe review!

I purchased these in size US 00. For reference, I’m 4’11” with a 24″ waist and 28″ inseam. Normally I struggle to find pants that are small enough in the waist, but these were surprisingly snug! I would describe them as a perfect fit on an empty, flat stomach. But post-meals with a full, protruding belly, it feels quite snug. And sitting down, it becomes even more questionable. The length was spot on though. I’m wearing flat sandals here, and the pants don’t even touch the ground.

I also purchased these in size US 00. On the ASOS website, the pants are described as high waist, and appears to be well above the ankle on the model. On me, the pants sat on my hips, and ended just above the ground. In the picture above, I pinned the pants back to sit on my waist, and end around my ankles. These pants will definitely need a tailor to fit properly.

Another thing to note is the color difference. On the site, the color is described as olive, but looks more like lime green to me. In person, I’d say it’s somewhere in the pea green family.

I purchased these espadrilles in size US 4. I believe this is my fourth time trying shoes from ASOS, and I’ve learned not to trust their sizing when it comes to size US 4 shoes. When I first discovered ASOS, I was thrilled to see the wide selection of size 4 shoes on their site. But it seems that even though ASOS lists size 4 as an option, sometimes they will send size 35 (which is equivalent to size 5), and the label will say something along the lines of “US 4, EU 35.” ASOS also offers other brands in addition to their own, and sometimes they will claim to have size 4 available, but if you look at the brand’s own site, they don’t even make shoes in size 4.

For these reasons, I’ve pretty much steered away from buying shoes from ASOS. But these espadrilles caught my eye for a few reasons. Years ago, I was coveting the black YSL espadrilles, but unfortunately they ran large (see my review here). While the ASOS espadrilles are very different from the YSL ones, I hadn’t had any luck finding other black espadrilles over the years in my size. These were also on sale and a steal at only $10! Reassuringly, all the reviews mentioned that these shoes were TINY. So I figured even if they send me size 5 shoes again, they might still fit.

Sure enough, the shoes arrived and the label read “US 4, EU 35.” But true to the reviews, these really were small, even bordering on too small for me! They’re a perfect fit, but the back does rub a little, and I’d like to stick heel liners on. With heel liners on, it might be a bit snug, but would hopefully stretch with wear.

In case you’re interested, here’s a super old ASOS haul I did that also includes a shoe review and a bit more information on their sizing.

I hope you found this ASOS petite clothing and size US 4 shoe review helpful!
