I’ve Hit Pan!

Cue the fanfare from makeup lovers everywhere.  There’s an odd sense of satisfaction in hitting pan on a beauty product.  Perhaps it’s because some beauty products are designed to last a long time, so it feels like quite the accomplishment when you’re able to polish one off.  The folks over at Birchbox carried out an experiment 3 years ago to see how many swipes were in a tube of lipstick.  The verdict?  293!  Wowzie wowzahs that’s a lot.  No wonder it’s so satisfying to finish a tube of lipstick!

Sadly, today’s products don’t include a tube of lipstick, but here’s what I’ve managed to hit pan on recently:

The Body Shop Body Butter in Mango

The. Best. Body Lotion. Ever.  Although I’ve been using the mango scent in the summer and spring, The Body Shop body butters are also great for the wintertime because they are extremely moisturizing. Not only are they moisturizing, but they’re also long lasting – you can still feel the buttery smoothness on your skin the next day!  Ladies: this will be your best friend for newly shaved legs.  Your legs will have never felt so smooth…

Champagne Pop is an amazingly beautiful highlighter, but it is not for the faint of heart.  If you’re looking for a bold, in-your-face, see-it-from-a-satellite kind of highlighter, get your hands on Champagne Pop ASAP because it is a gorgeous, brilliant, golden highlighter that will make you glow like a bronze goddess.  If you’re looking for more of a sheer, ethereal highlighter, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder and Strobe Lighting Powder make this claim to fame.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent

I hit pan big time on this pressed powder, to the point where there was only a sliver of pressed powder around the rim of the pan.  Unfortunately, I left my makeup pouch on my bed, and it got knocked to the floor, shattering the remainder of my pressed powder to bits, so I don’t have a picture of my actual powder to show.  No worries though, because it was the perfect excuse to splurge on the Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pressed Powder, which I’m currently testing out.  The Rimmel Pressed Powder got the job done – it completely mattified any oils on my T zone.  A con with the Rimmel powder, however, is that you can see a light layer of powder on the nose if you care to notice.  It wasn’t a complete dealbreaker, but I am testing out the Too Faced powder to see if there’s a difference.

    1. Thank you! Hitting pan on a product also makes me feel like I got a lot of use out of it and that I got my money’s worth =)
