White t-shirts are annoyingly versatile! I recently bought 3 white t-shirts from Abercrombie and H&M that I wanted to share with you in a try-on review. They’re all slight variations of each other, but I somehow convinced myself that I needed all 3 of them =)
Abercrombie Cotton Seamless Fabric Scoopneck Tee
The Keeper.
The first white t-shirt is a fitted, cropped version. It’s 95% cotton and 5% elastane, so it’s fitted but stretchy, comfortable, and flattering. For reference, I’m 4’11” and roughly 85 lbs, and I normally wear size XXS at Abercrombie. However, with Abercrombie’s fitted crop tops, I always like to go up one size. I like the little bit of added length with tight shirts to keep them from riding up over my shorts.
Abercrombie Cropped Boyfriend Essential Tee
The Maybe.
The second white t-shirt is a boxy, cropped version that’s 100% cotton. Since this is a loose fit, I went with my usual size XXS, which fit perfectly fine. I’m just not convinced there’s anything special about this one!
Also, the body of the t-shirt is tapered, which wasn’t clear from the pictures online. It looked awkward with all my shorts except this one. Is a t-shirt really worth keeping if it only looks good with one pair of shorts? Maybe it would look good with my high-waisted leggings in the fall/winter, but I wasn’t about to try on that outfit in 90 degree weather!
H&M Tie-Hem Crop T-Shirt
The Head Scratcher.
The third t-shirt is a cropped, high-low, tie-back version. I bought this shirt in my usual size XXS. Some reviews online said the shirt was sheer, but I decided to take a chance because I loved the unique style of the back. Unfortunately it truly was too sheer, even with a nude bra. What was even more unfortunate, however, was this mess in the back:
Ummmmm….yeah that’s my bra. As I said before, I’m only 4’11”, so I have a pretty short torso. How short does my torso have to be to wear this shirt without my bra showing? I could go up one size, but the rest of the shirt wouldn’t fit as well. Such a shame, because the front was the perfect length. I also liked the idea of the high-low style because it looks fitted and cropped in the front, but it wouldn’t ride up since it doesn’t have a fitted hem all around.
I hope you enjoyed my white t-shirts try-on and review! How many white t-shirt do you have in your closet? Do you think one is enough, or do you think you can never have too many? Let me know in the comments down below! Until next time…
