I stopped by my local CVS recently and picked up a few things that have been on my “to buy” list for the past month or so.  So far, I’ve tried out 3 out of 5 items.

OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Conditioner

I’ve been into argan oil and macadamia nut hair products lately.  I find them to be detangling and conditioning on my hair, even when it’s just a shampoo and not a conditioner.  I’ve never tried this specific product, but I’ll report back in a future empties post once I’ve used it up.

Dove Dry Spray Go Fresh

I bought this Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant for an unorthodox use – a sole of the foot antiperspirant.  For day to day outings, I don’t require an antiperspirant. However,  at work, I wear flats barefoot and am on my feet up to 10 hours straight, with lots of scrambling around.  I’ve found that I’ve had to toss out my work flats much more frequently than my non-work flats due to sweat.

I thought of wearing the socks that are designed for flats, but every time I’ve tried, they slip off the back of my heel the second I take a step.  Here’s hoping a quick spray of antiperspirant under the foot will do the trick!

Garnier Fructis Root Amp

A long, long time ago, I had a different root booster from Garnier Fructis that I had a hate-then love relationship with.  I originally thought it to be a sticky, difficult to manage serum that did not appear to lift my roots whatsoever.  I stored that serum away until a long time later when I dug it out of my collection, learned how to use it to my advantage (spray it onto roots and blow dry it completely dry), and wound up rather liking it.

I believe that exact serum is no longer being made, but I found this Root Amp product from CVS that I’m hoping will have similar effects.  I’ve only used it once so far, and it seems to have that same sticky “issue,” but it’s hard to tell at this point whether it makes a difference to my roots.  Once I use it up, I’ll feature it in a future empties post and give you my thoughts.

E.L.F. Lip Scrub in Clear

Based on the one time I’ve used this so far, it’s hard for me to rate this product. However, I bought this a while ago for my sister, and according to her, this lip scrub does not act like a lip scrub until you’ve used it a couple times.

With the first use, the top layer glides on smoothly like a balm and does not appear to be gritty enough to act as a scrub.  However, after you’ve used it a couple times, the top smooth layer wears off and you’re left with the gritty texture that you need for a scrub.

The lip scrub was available in 3 colors at CVS: clear, green, and pink.  I’m assuming the other colors don’t actually have pigment to them when applied to the lips, but I thought clear would be the safest bet (pictured above).

Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner

I can’t remember the last time I purchased an eyeliner.  I love the look of winged liner when I have the time to do it, but I find that 99.99% of mornings, I don’t have the time for that extra step, and purchasing eyeliner unfortunately became sort of a waste.  Recently, I was watching one of my favorite YouTubers talking about this eyeliner and thought I’d give it a try.

The pigment on this eyeliner is pretty decent.  It has a little bit of a tug when you apply it on the lash line, which makes it a bit difficult to do a smooth winged liner.  I would recommend this product if you’re looking to do basic eyeliner.  For winged liner, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a product with a smoother application.
