What I Wore This Week, Plus A Shopping Ban

Sporadic is an understatement when it comes to my blog posts lately. It’s been a crazy few months, but a good kind of crazy, because we just bought a house! We’re really excited to move into our new home, but our days up until now have been spent working, going to open houses on our days off, and lots and lots of paper signing. There’s still quite a bit of paperwork left before we can cross the finish line and get the keys, but today I’m going to slow down a bit and share some outfits I wore this week.

One of the first work outfits I wore this week was a black square neck top from Reformation and a tulle polka dot skirt from H&M. For shoes, I wore a reeeeeally beat up pair of black Sam Edelman flats that are so old I probably shouldn’t even be wearing them anymore. I worked a short shift that day, so it was a good day for flats.

Popped out to Target midweek to try on some cat flats that I’ve been waiting to be restocked for months. It was 87 degrees out, so I wore a cherry-print smocked cami from Abercrombie, old denim shorts from H&M, and white Birkenstock dupes from Target. For accessories, I went with dangly fake pearl earrings.

That afternoon, we accepted an offer on our house. Woop woop! And then that night, my husband had his friends over. We ordered tons of food from a local sushi restaurant. Then they watched Pet Sematary Two while I hid upstairs because I CANNOT watch scary movies.

This was Wednesday’s work outfit. Honestly, I probably shouldn’t have worn a dress. It was 70 something degrees, which is fine if you’re walking around outside. But inside where there’s air conditioning, I was shivering. I kind of knew that would happen, but my legs were…presentable…that day, so I just wanted to take advantage.

I’m on my feet 100% of the time at work, and prefer not to wear flats for my longer shifts. I had an 8 hour shift Wednesday, but what else can I wear with a dress?

This was my last work outfit of the week. I had an 11 hour shift that day, so comfy shoes were a must. This is one of my go-to outfit formulas – a fitted top, black pants, and clogs.

So that was my week in outfits. There’s probably going to be a lot of outfit repeats in the near future, just to warn you! As we get closer to the closing date on our new house, I’ve put myself on a self-imposed shopping ban. Let’s not make the folks at the bank raise their eyebrows because I couldn’t resist some new clothes!

….

Until next week, thanks for reading!
