Barbie-Inspired | My Favorite Pink Outfits from July & August

You’d be hard-pressed to escape the fanfare of the Barbie movie that released late last month. Admittedly, I’m neither an avid movie watcher nor Barbie fan, so I haven’t seen the movie and probably never will, but never say never. However, I thought it might be fun to do a Barbie-inspired post, and round up my favorite pink outfits from the month of July and August so far.

This is probably the most “Barbie content” you’ll see from my Instagram and blog. Barbie isn’t nostalgic for me, and watching movies just isn’t up there on my list of favorite pastimes. When I was in school, I remember learning about plot diagrams and how a storyline typically follows a general timeline. (Full disclosure – I had to google it because I couldn’t remember the terms.) The timeline is as follows: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution. The climax of the storyline is where my problem lies. I know they’re fictional characters, and I know good usually triumphs evil in movies, but I just find it so stressful to watch the protagonist going through struggles and turmoil.

On top of that, the average movie is 90-120 minutes long. Knowing that I’m going to be spending a good chunk of that time waiting for the “bad stuff” to happen to the protagonist, and then another good chunk of that time watching the bad stuff unfold, with only a brief moment of relief during the resolution is just not something I look forward to experiencing.

Of course, I don’t anticipate the Barbie movie being particularly stressful, but since I don’t love watching movies in general and there’s no element of nostalgia for me, I’m not in the biggest rush to see it.

Anyhow, I hope you liked this Barbie-inspired post, and seeing my favorite pink outfits from July and August so far. Have you seen the Barbie movie? How’d you like it?
