Good food just heals the soul. Fridays tend to be hectic for me at work – lots of people panicking because we’re closed on the weekend, and we get bombarded with last minute requests. So by the time I sign off for the night, my brain is FRIED. I’m not gonna lie, it’s not always easy to shut my brain off over the weekend, but spending time with my husband and my cat, some good food, and the arrival of my new AMAZING teapot earrings really helps to mend my spirit.
Since we both work Monday to Friday, like many others we take care of our errands on the weekend. Last weekend we had to drop off my care for some maintenance, go grocery shopping and stop by our PO box to pick up some packages. One of the packages was these glass teapot earrings I bought from Etsy. They’re filled with real tea! They’re beautifully made, bigger than expected while still being lightweight, and even more stunning in person than in the pictures.
What I Wore
I really wanted the earrings to be the star of the show, so I kept the rest of my outfit pretty simple. I wore a black ribbed jersey dress I bought from H&M almost two years ago (see my blog post here), with a hand-me-down denim jacket, and old black flip flops from Sam Edelman.
H&M doesn’t carry this dress anymore, but here are some of this season’s options that I thought were really cute:
Yummy in the Tummy
Since we were already out and about, and we still had to wait for my car to be finished, we decided to stop by a Thai restaurant we hadn’t been to in a long time. Thai food has the most delicious sauces! I don’t know what they use to make the sauces for their stir fries, but their stir fried noodles are soooo good. I got a stir fried udon noodle dish with tofu, and I believe husband got a stir fried flat rice noodle dish with chicken. We topped it off with two Thai iced coffees and left with happy tummies.
After that, we came home and played badminton in the yard for a bit before winding down for the night. It’s forever a work in progress for me to not think about work when I’m not working. I find that it helps to keep my mind busy – spending time with loved ones; eating good food (a happy belly equals a happy mind); and treating myself to little things that bring me joy, like these teapot earrings =).
How do you like to wind down on the weekend? Are you more the type of person to lounge on the couch and do nothing? Or are you more the type of person that has to be doing something all the time? Let me know in the comments down below!

Thanks for reading!
Thai food is pretty much the best…especially when enjoyed in Thailand! I miss visiting that country.

Ah you’re so lucky! I haven’t had the opportunity to travel to Thailand, but I’m sure the food there is an amazing experience in itself! Thanks so much for reading and commenting!
